When you don’t know yourself [true Self], and you try to know others, that is the state of the causal body. Ignorance is its quality. It is also called Akash (the space from which the world appears). That which describes it is called the mind. That which thinks about it is called the intellect. To be proud of it is called ego…[1]
Only out of self-awareness does true Self-realization arise. Meditation: Calming my mind to transcend my thoughts as a silent witness, beyond the mind, is self-awareness. Then, focusing my quiet, without comparison, attention from within, on all my experiences reveals the blissful understanding of being connected by life-energy to everything in my existence. That is Self-realization: I am is my true Nature—pure Consciousness—deathless awareness of the infinite energy Source manifesting this temporary world.
The Truth is not found in some arduous journey of becoming aware; ever-present reality can be uncovered instantly, with the still awakening of true Self-realization: Thou art That—the ineffable Source. As the ocean is in each droplet of seawater, the Source projects omnipotent life-energy—Love—in everything created through Consciousness. I am the true Self-realization of being That—an extension of the Source that connects everything in this temporary world. Our purpose is to stay aware of Consciousness, the activity of constant creation—Love—being projected everywhere, into everything, manifested as I am “That“—the eternal Source, and this temporary illusion it creates.
