My name is Vic, and by the grace of my Higher Power, “I am” aware; “I am” aware that my mind is conditioned to think as an alcoholic, mentally imprisoned by my past, but I’m sober now, no longer suffering in the isolation of addiction.
I am here to share because sharing is feeling, and feeling is healing my past, now, in the sober, ever-present moment, where my addicted self-ego can’t exist.
Now, my awakened true Self stays aware of what my conditioned self-ego mind is doing, to observe my thinking and end my cravings for temporary physical remedies I used to escape my mental conditioning and calm my mind from constantly reliving the past, the root cause of all addictions. I am no longer trapped in the duality of pain or pleasure, that is addiction; now, I am living in Discovery: to understand my suffering, how my mind works, and the choiceless awareness of “being” neither addicted nor sober—just “being” my true Self, silent conscious awareness.
I finally woke up at the age of sixty years old, when I detoxed and entered my CeDAR Recovery home on October 16th, 2017. I have stayed aware of my addicted self-ego for seven and a half years, no longer fearful of my addiction or suffering in sobriety. Now I live in the unified peace of true Self-awareness, being the silent observer of my mind, which causes my thinking to quieten and dissolves the pain of my past in the ever-present moment, and only “I am”—the silent, creative activity of Love—remains!
I may not know you personally, but I’m here to project Love into this room and, knowingly, to help create a world that reflects the Love energy that each of us can project from within.
I Love you guys!
