Since awakening from my addictions, I have been blessed with the courage to open my heart again and allow eternal Light energy—Love—my Higher Power to flow freely, unrestricted by my conditioned mind, to manifest a new world of loving-kindness around me. A world that reflects the Love I project—and, in turn, I can reflect the unconditional Love projected from others. I am different now, I see the world differently, I live differently than I did in the past, and that is why I am still sober—eight years later.
I see people differently. I am not so cynical or judgmental of others now. I know that despite our race, creed, or color, we all come to exist from the same energy source: unconditional, selfless Love. Love is all that exists when the self-ego disappears in active meditation—when the mind is quiet. Also, I now know, we are all united—in the totality of everything that exists in the world, in the universe—formed from the Light of Awareness, as Life, that is neither created in birth nor destroyed in death, but is eternally transformed from ashes to ashes and dust to dust. We are all points that project this eternal Light, the truth of reality, into overlapping, temporary illusions of Life we each manifest as the conscious world we share. The silent projection of the Absolute unknown, the Light of Awareness, is the enlightenment we receive when we are spiritually ready to Know Thyself: Thou art That—the unspoken knowing of the truth. Our Light shines as formless, eternal Awareness through the open door of creation that manifests as consciousness—the “I am”. I am formed from dust into an illusory existence, the reflective duality of consciousness formed from silence, in a body identified by the word—me—as a temporary being in a dream world.
This silent, still awakening of witnessing the Light of Awareness cannot be unseen. Once awakened from this dream world of consciousness, the journey of understanding begins with the first step, which is the last step of the ever-present moment, when we can let go of our conditioned past. When the body and everything unreal return to dust in the eternal Light of the infinite Source, that is the Absolute—the silent unknown. The awakening is remembering not to look outward to discover the truth, but to look within to feel with our heart, through which all blessings flow in constant creativity of this temporary illusion of Life!
