I’ve uncovered a new analogy for understanding my ever-changing emotional state of mind, when I react to Life happening in the present moment, or when I get stuck in the depression of mental suffering from my past, or triggered into reliving the physical and psychological traumas experienced throughout my Life. These revelations of my never-changing spiritual awareness continue to reveal that my true Self is not my temporary body-mind or its emotional self-ego.
I now know that in every moment, I have the power to stop whatever I am doing, focus my attention on my physical stress and mental alertness, and check on my metaphorical buckets of feelings to understand my current level of emotional consciousness. Each bucket represents a different energy level of my consciousness, ascending from the lower negative energy levels of shame, guilt, grief, fear, anger, and pride, up through the transformational level of courage—the power of letting go—which transcends my feelings from negative to positive energy, into the higher levels of consciousness, the buckets of willingness, acceptance, reason, Love, joy, peace, and enlightenment.
I also know that my Higher Power of universal, unconditional Love is constantly flowing through my beating heart and breathing lungs. And my heart controls the tap through which Love energy fills my buckets of conscious-feelings, which determine my emotional state in the present moment.
When my heart is fully open, and the buckets are all filled with Love from the lower negative-energy levels through the transformative level of courage to fill the higher positive-energy levels, I can reach a meditative state that causes the emotional buckets of my body-mind’s ever-changing self-ego to “disappear,” and all that remains is unconditional Love.
But when the heart valve is damaged or closed. And the world is draining my Love energy faster than the buckets can be filled. The buckets will “reappear” as they are being drained, from the highest bucket of enlightenment downward, until my energy level “Hits Bottom.” Where all of the Love has been drained, and I am wallowing—feeling un-Loved—in the lowest conscious-feeling of total shame!
The truth is that the natural world and the unnatural manufactured world are constantly challenging me with my physical and mental limitations, human relationships, surviving disasters, and ultimately death, draining my emotional buckets and distorting my Love energy, with the conscious-feelings of the bucket level currently being drained. So, as the higher buckets drain out, my emotions can quickly shift from peaceful, positive, optimistic, and trusting to negative, anxious, judgmental, and hateful, blaming others for the feelings I am now experiencing and expressing.
So, the emotional temperament and actions of my ever-changing body-mind’s self-ego depend on the level of Love in my emotional buckets at any given moment. Which reflects how quickly my habits and relationships are draining my Love energy—compared to the condition of my heart valve—and how quickly my buckets are being filled by my universal energy source and the Love being reflected from the world I’ve created around me.
I hope this bucket metaphor is useful for visualizing the importance of staying aware of the flow of Love within our hearts and how quickly the world is draining our energy. We have to stay aware of our heart’s physical and emotional condition and do the work required to stay sober—to be present—and heal the damaged connections in our mind and body that may be restricting the flow of Love from keeping our buckets full. Also, we must stay aware of the dysfunctional habits and relationships in our lives that drain our emotional buckets faster than we can refill them, with Love.
So, Please Stay Aware and Keep Your Buckets Full of Love!
